J. Scott Halama, M.D., F.A.C.C.

Dr. Halama received his medical degree from East Tennessee State University's (ETSU's) Quillen College of Medicine, Johnson City, Tenn., in 1991. After a medical internship at East Tennessee State University Affiliated Hospitals from 1991 to 1992, he completed an anesthesiology residency at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, from 1992 to 1993 and an internal medicine residency at ETSU from 1993 to 1995. In addition, Dr. Halama worked in the emergency room of St. Mary's Hospital in Norton, Va., from December 1993 to August of 1997. Dr. Halama also completed a three-year cardiology fellowship program at ETSU from 1995 to 1998. Following a brief period as an assistant professor at ETSU's Quillen College of Medicine, Department of Cardiology, Dr. Halama joined Parkway Cardiology in August of 1999. He is board certified in internal medicine and cardiology and is a member of the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Halama and his wife Sherry, a native of Morristown, Tenn., reside in Oak Ridge. His hobbies include sports, bicycle riding, weight lifting, canoeing, golf and tennis.
